There is a lovely little town with lots of shops and places to eat thats just a 15 min walk along the sea front, also on Tuesdays and Thursdays why not grab a bargain from the local market, this can be found right next door to the quaint little steam railway station

The Minehead Resort is in the perfect position sheltered by the dramatic hills of Exmoor and only seconds away from the beautiful sandy beach and the quaint little train station that still runs the old reliable steam trains to local villages.

It is surrounded by some of the countrys most beautiful countryside, villages and harbours from the seaside towns of Lynton and Lynmouth connected by an amazing cliff railway, to historic Watchet with its marina and museum. The area is great for walking too, and is home to Exmoor ponies and the largest herd of Red Deer in England.

North Hill rises above the town, 900 feet from the sea. It can be seen for miles around, and is just as distinctive a landmark today as it was before the town came into existence.

Minehead actually takes its name from North Hill: 'mynydd' in Welsh passed into Old English as 'myned', which means hill or mountain.

The church that dominates the hillside is St Michael's, parts of which date back to the 14th century. From its forecourt, it offers an amazing view of Minehead old and new.
